E.B. Meyrowitz in London, relocating from its original location in Bond Street, settled a short walk away at 6 The Royal Arcade. From here, we have continued to design collections of handmade spectacles exclusively for the boutique. The shop is now entirely dressed with it’s own designs, reconnecting with the original culture inspired by Emil Meyrowitz himself.
Mr Emil Bruno Meyrowitz born on the 20th October 1852 in Greifenhagen, Prussia was a pioneer in optics. Throughout the course of his life he opened practices in Paris, New York as well as London. Meyrowitz started it’s legacy by designing it’s own line of optical and medical products for a distinguished and international clientele. More than one hundred years on the name of Meyrowitz still lives and so does it’s unique spirit.
The spectacles and sunglasses on display, whilst available to take away in their initial form, are seen merely as a starting point at E.B. Meyrowitz. The true mastery of the optician comes alive on commission of frames being made-to-measure. Dedicated to creating the perfect set of spectacles for our clientele, the second floor sits as homage to bespoke eyewear.
Bespoke service at Meyrowitz caters to a client’s every need. From the initial consultation to the collection of the finished product, clients are expected to feel as proud as the Griffin, the emblem of Meyrowitz, as he resides over his own frame . Offering the finest acetate, buffalo horn and other rare materials, our made-to-measure spectacles are designed to a client’s exact expectations.
