We enjoy collaborating with other creative brands and people, so when we were approached to work with acclaimed tattoo artist Saira Hunjan – ‘the girl with the golden needle’ – how could we resist?!

Our skills as bespoke shoemakers may be centuries old, but we’re modern shoemakers, keen to take the handsewn craft into new arenas and to new audiences… plus we’re huge tattoo fans!

So, working together with Saira, we developed the Tattoo Trilogy – a pair of rugged boots, canvas and leather gaiters and traditional velvet slippers designed to show off Saira’s tattoo techniques to best effect – traditional shoemaking emblems, the thistle, flower, leaf, griffin and stag’s head turned into beautiful, tattoo ‘flashes. Saira lovingly tattooed the boots and gaiters by hand; and the velvet slippers were stitched with metallic gold thread.

Despite seeming poles apart, our two creative industries – tattoo artistry and bespoke shoemaking – share striking similarities in their approach to consultation, design and application and with customers who share a passion and enthusiasm for our respective crafts.

The Tattoo Trilogy celebrates this love of craftsmanship and is exclusively available to commission.
